This is my contribution to Couture Cakers Collaboration 2018 hosted by Heba M Elalfy.
In the Paris fashion week Haute Couture On Aura Tout vu Haute Couture presented the H2O collection for autumn / winter 2014-2015.
My cake was designed based on one of the beautiful black dresses from this collection. I really like this delicate material and asymetric line where the top is covered with these ice-shaped crystals and spikes.
The black color of my creation symbolizes melancholy. To created my ruffles I used satin ice gumpaste, ruffles are symbol of deforms, and riverbeds. Cold water flowing around my cake creates beautiful crystals made of crumbled Glacier Mints and sharp spikes made of candy rocks woven around black rose. Cake base are decorated with clear edible gems reminiscent of water drops.
